Rosengarten Deluxe…

I’m not really a fan of rose scents, but Burning Rose completely blew me away in a positive way. It smells like a rose garden with a depth that is simply stunning. The fragrance definitely has a good portion of the Orient, with cinnamon and ginger adding just a bit of spice to the rose garden. The patchouli is creamy and full in a very pleasant way. An oriental princess is walking in the most beautiful rose garden ever, somewhere in the East. Absolutely stunning rose scent with good sillage. Updated on 06/19/2023

You are as hot as a volcano

There are a trillion rose fragrances. Young roses, old roses, classic roses, modern roses, unconventional roses, and beautiful roses. But a burning rose, that only exists once. And this One in a Million was created by Olivier Pescheux for Carolina Herrera. Burning Rose is clearly recognizable as an oriental fragrance. It fits, as it seems to be available offline only in Arab countries. However, it is not just another oriental fragrance but stands out. By remaining light even though it is heavy. A paradox and thus the first point that makes the scent so exciting. Upon initial spraying, you get a fizzy rose. The fizziness (heureka what a word) is provided by ginger. The rose is powerful and delicate, like a siren it lures you in only to blind you with its full radiance. To this absolutely perfect rose, the spiciness and depth of cinnamon join in, making the fragrance round and soft and also somehow heavy without being overwhelming. This combination of sublime rose and the perfect spiciness of cinnamon ignites the bloom and allows it to burn throughout the entire fragrance journey. That's about it for the progression. It sounds far too simple, but Burning Rose is truly absolutely unique and lives up to its name completely. Longevity is outstanding; I can still perceive it the next day. Sillage is typically oriental but not overly aggressive. For price/performance, I need to elaborate a bit. I mean, they are asking 250 euros for the line. I find that reasonable for what not only Burning Rose offers but also the other fragrances (definitely worth trying, there are really treasures among them). I would be willing to pay that, as I find it still appropriate compared to other exclusive designer lines. Now, to my "insider tip." If you happen to be, as a common Alman, in Egypt on your next vacation, then feel free to stop by Hurghada Airport. There are a few of the fragrances available, and they cost around 180 euros (prices subject to change). To put it in Florian Silbereisen jargon: The Burning Rose has ignited a burning passion within me. Updated on 02/13/2025

I revise my statement..

Les Sables Roses is not the number one rose fragrance. It is simply pure art and elegance. I would not have expected the house of Carolina to capture the name so perfectly, to create it, and to craft such a composition. Don’t be put off by Bad Boy and Good Girl. The fragrance is a statement, a signature, and simply something to fall in love with. It smells exactly like one imagines a burning rose. Can’t you? You have to test it! Slightly smoky, sweet cinnamon, perfectly balanced, not too piercing rose. I have never smelled anything like this since my nose first experienced it almost a year ago. HS is the only downside, so rather overspray Unisex
