The Smoked Fish in the Bathtub
When I was a child, I often spent my holidays with my great-grandparents in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, where they had a small farm in a little village. The highlight of my visits there were the fishing trips my great-grandfather took me on. And because I was a child, we usually went to a special fishing lake where you only had to keep your line in the water for ten minutes to catch a fish. Afterwards, my great-grandfather paid for the fun by the kilo of the catch. We would eat afterwards at a small fish snack bar located on private property, where the snack bar operator had a large wooden smokehouse with many different fish hanging inside, including a few trout. This scent had already captivated me as a child, as I was a big fan of burnt matches, blown-out candles, and other smoky smells back then. Like the other Theater Potions, Redwood is an extraordinary fragrance that takes a surprising turn. Just as a good stage drama should. It starts with an ethereal pine needle scent that reminds me of cold relief baths and within a few minutes swings into that unmistakable smell of a smokehouse. Fortunately, you can't explicitly smell the fish, but I was immediately reminded of my wonderful childhood experiences, and thus the thought of a smoked trout that has fallen into the bathwater emerged. Most of the Theater Potions share something else in addition to their surprising scent development: they remind me in different ways of various scent impressions from my childhood. This makes the brand feel very personal and likable to me. This is also due to the fact that on the homepage, you can not only order perfume oils but the scents are also offered as cream perfumes and even quite unusually as powder perfumes. And there is even "costume perfume," where the perfume products come in original and quirky flacons and containers, for example, as glass chess pieces. Updated on 08/02/2017
