The Honey Bomb (Guerlain Tobacco Honey Dupe)

0 found helpful

I am constantly on the lookout for the perfect honey perfume. Often, candidates disappoint with synthetic notes or overloaded compositions in which the honey loses its character. Honey Tobacco, on the other hand, stands out pleasantly here. From the very beginning, an intense, surprisingly realistic honey note unfolds. The character is less reminiscent of light floral honey and more of dark, sticky-sweet forest honey. While the clove remains very subtle, the roasted sesame is immediately present. If this roasted note were a bit quieter at the start, the opening would be absolutely perfect for my taste. However, the naturalness is worth highlighting. The scent never comes across as synthetic, which I haven't experienced often lately. As the fragrance develops, the honey remains the undisputed protagonist and accompanies you until the end. A feast for lovers of this note. It is complemented by the persistent roasted aroma of sesame and tobacco, which, like the clove, never pushes too much into the foreground. A fine anise note adds a subtle spiciness to the whole. What ultimately remains is a very sweet, heavy scent with authentic honey, roasted sesame, and spicy nuances of anise, tobacco, and clove, with the honey clearly taking center stage. The pyramid may vaguely remind one of "Tobacco Vanille (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford," but the scent character is different. In fact, this is a dupe of Guerlain's Tobacco Honey. The fragrance is absolutely unisex (W50%/50%M). The performance is impressive. The sillage is strong and almost room-filling, so caution is advised when dosing. The longevity is excellent. On clothing, the scent is still distinctly noticeable even after two days.

Solid Performance

Got a decant of this with no expectations, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. As others below have mentioned, it is just different enough from the TF Tobacco Vanille vibe to keep it interesting. They are similar, but having both if you're a lover of tobacco scents isn't quite redundant. That whole Volare collection seems to be sold out online, which is a bummer. Hopefully it'll pop back up. Projection is great and longevity is beast. Still above a skin scent about 9/10 hrs after application. Updated on 12/16/2025

I have found my honey scent

0 found helpful

I really like honey in fragrances and have been searching for that one scent that truly convinces me for a long time. So far, my search has been unsuccessful. Either the honey was not intense enough, felt inauthentic and synthetic, or it simply got lost in a too complex pyramid. When I came across "Honey Tobacco | Volaré," my curiosity was immediately piqued, especially since it is an alternative to "Tobacco Honey | Guerlain," which I have wanted to test for a long time. The scent starts off with a very sweet honey. However, it does not remind me of light floral honey at all, but rather of a dark forest honey that is spicy, robust, and slightly bitter, with a subtle caramel note. This is accompanied by clove, which is noticeable but pleasantly holds back in the background. After a short while, tobacco joins in. It is soft, bright, and harmonizes perfectly with its aromatic, slightly vanilla nuance with the sweetness of the honey. The scent progression remains quite linear, with honey and tobacco being the dominant notes. I cannot perceive sesame, oud, or tonka bean at any point. The longevity is very good. The scent remains distinctly present for many hours. It is a unisex fragrance that does not lean too strongly towards the feminine or masculine. In summary, I can say that Honey Tobacco has completely convinced me. Here, the honey finally stands out as authentically and intensely as I have always wished. The tobacco complements the sweetness excellently without overshadowing the main note. Anyone looking for a sweet, heavy, and spicy honey scent should definitely test it. Due to the very good price-performance ratio, I can absolutely recommend it.
