As a Vodka + Raspberry Syrup Lover ...
0 found helpful
the scent is naturally a must, whether it's more feminine or not. It is indeed the case that my favorite drink when partying is vodka with raspberry syrup, and at some parties, there are also a few rounds of vodka + Ahoi Brause, where raspberry is, of course, the best flavor. And now I have found the perfect celebratory scent that smells just like it! The packaging is well done; it has just the right cutout for the bottle. Unfortunately, they left a bit too much space at the top, which causes the bottle to fall out of its cutout during shipping and get stuck. I was lucky; nothing is broken, and at least I've come this far. Keep it up, not much more to go! The plastic bottle corresponds to the blue one for men that I also have. They are bulky in design, but at least not too big, so that's manageable. Longevity and sillage are good, not a beast, but definitely good for the price. Updated on 10/10/2025

Raspberry Fizzy Powder

This cheapie from the brand French Avenue has been on my list for a while: the Baie from the Vulcan line. Of course, the scent is heavily overshadowed by "Feu | French Avenue." Similar to the Feu, the Baie is said to be a dupe for a fragrance by Stephane Humbert Lucas, in this case, the "Pink Boa | Stéphane Humbert Lucas." I can't comment on this comparison or the similarities, as I haven't tested the Pink Boa. However, I always found the scent profile of the Pink Boa very interesting, which is why I decided to order the Baie. Fruity-sweet fragrances are totally my thing, and this pink scent seems to be extremely popular among men as well. This is definitely a fragrance that stands out and is quite noticeable. This squeaky sweet raspberry is very distinctive, and there is little comparable in the mainstream. You can get this French Avenue for just over €20, which is absolutely fair. The fragrance comes in the usual French Avenue box, here in bright neon pink. The bottle initially suggests a girly scent. It's a matter of taste, but if you like sweet raspberry scents in the direction of Haribo, you won't go wrong here. Otherwise, the bottle is very solid and features a snake. This Baie is one of four from the Vulcan line. The opening is quite intense and starts off a bit childish with an extreme amount of squeaky sweetness. To be precise, raspberry with a lot of extra sugar. The scent reminds me a bit of Haribo Rainbow. The sweetness tones down a bit after the second hour and becomes somewhat more mature. A wonderful fruity-sweet mix of raspberry and blackcurrant. A great duo that provides a refreshing fruity blend that becomes a bit more refined over time. The vodka note also comes through a bit, giving the fragrance a slight boozy cocktail vibe. Subtle green spices from rosemary and basil follow, which fit in well but cannot compete with the strong fruity sweetness. As the fruity sweetness fades, a rather ordinary soft base of musk, amber, and sandalwood emerges. The base is quite common, unlike the first part of the fragrance. Overall, a great scent that impresses with this unique fruity-sweet top note. Performance is absolutely decent for this price range. The sillage is very strong with the fruity notes. Once the fruity notes fade, the fragrance becomes more subtle. Longevity is around 8 hours, possibly a bit more. Overall, a good version from French Avenue. A great scent DNA that stands out and I can especially recommend it for younger ladies and gentlemen. As it develops, the fragrance becomes a bit more mature and is simply fun to wear.

Overrated I Perfect for Instagram Photos, Execution Unfortunately Mediocre...

The Baie has been communicated as an absolute hit everywhere on social media and praised by many as a "better alternative" to the "Feu | French Avenue." I definitely cannot agree with that; while the Feu really comes close, this fragrance feels a bit further away from its inspiration for me. At the same time, I simply do not find this DNA optimally executed in this case; too flat, lacking depth. Let's get into it: - To be honest, the opening lacks the sparkle that I would have expected from the combination of rosemary, bergamot, and blackcurrant. The blackcurrant dominates a bit here, and the zest from the bergamot and the freshness from the rosemary just do not come through; it is rather the blackcurrant that is immediately overtaken by the raspberry-vodka combo, making it rather sweet-alcoholic-flat right from the opening. The basil adds a bit of contrast and prevents the fragrance from completely drifting into this sweet-alcoholic territory, but from my perspective, it does not save the fragrance either. - The combination of musk and sandalwood in the drydown makes the fragrance slightly velvety-creamy, but it also tends to fade into this raspberry-vodka combo. From my point of view, there is simply a lack of sparkle throughout the fragrance, of accents that are missing here and there, even though the necessary ingredients are actually there/would have been. From the opening to the drydown, it is a rather sobering, linear experience; which is not absolutely fatal or bad, it is just not what I would have expected... and I think one simply has to like this type of DNA, and there are enough people who enjoy such a linear sweet-fruity-alcoholic scent. So yes, it may well be that there are many out there who rate the fragrance higher, it is simply not for me. - In terms of performance, the fragrance was solidly mediocre for me; yes, the longevity is quite alright, but the sillage is rather close to the skin. My fragrance has now matured over several weeks and months, so I can assess that quite well. In summary: The Baie is a perfect Instagram photo, a beautiful bottle that promises a lot, but from my perspective, it lacks life, carbonation, and sparkle. Those who enjoy linear, fruity-alcoholic fragrances will find what they are looking for here, but those seeking vibrancy will likely be disappointed. A bit more boldness would have done the fragrance good. Updated on 01/04/2026

The Raspberry-Vodka Combo (Pink Boa Dupe)

I was particularly looking forward to this fragrance, as raspberry is one of my favorite scent notes, especially when executed well. Since there is currently no dupe for "Pink Boa | Stéphane Humbert Lucas," my curiosity was even greater. When I first held the fragrance in my hands and sprayed it, it smelled exactly as expected: tipsy and fruity. While boozy notes in many perfumes often come from cognac, whiskey, etc., here it comes from vodka. I immediately perceive the blackcurrant. As it develops, the raspberry takes over. The raspberry feels slightly playful to me; it almost has something of chewing gum or lemonade, and less of authentic fruit. It is gently accompanied by the vodka note, which never takes the lead. The raspberry is clearly the star for me. The scent remains sweet-fruity and tipsy until the end, is a bit playful, yet still appealing. The performance is decent. Given the boozy note, I would have wished for more power, but you are well noticed in the first hours. The longevity varies logically depending on skin type; on me, the fragrance lasted about 8 hours. For me, the fragrance is unisex, but due to the prominent raspberry, it tends to lean more feminine in my opinion (W65%/35%M). Conclusion: a lovely fragrance. Although it did not exceed my expectations but rather met them, I will definitely get a bottle as soon as the price is right. Updated on 08/20/2025

A Thing Between Cocktail and Fruit Basket

The scent starts off quite fruity. Bergamot and blackcurrant stand out, along with a bit of rosemary, which gives it a spicy freshness. In the heart, it becomes more unusual: basil, raspberry, and the vodka accord, sweet, aromatic, and slightly cool at the same time. In the base, musk remains with sandalwood, making it rounded and wearable. Baie smells strikingly sweet-fruity, a bit fresh and a bit cheeky. It does come across as quite synthetic, but not unpleasant - rather modern and clean. It partially reminds me of Pink Boa by Stéphane Humbert Lucas, although not quite as complex. Longevity is in the solid middle range, about 6-7 hours on the skin. The sillage is initially quite noticeable, but after two hours, it draws a bit closer to the body. Overall, a very solid scent. Not for every day, but definitely interesting for men who want to stand out. It really fits well in summer or even in a Hawaiian shirt.
